Heading Information
Pencil pleat headings
- Securely knot together the three draw cords at one side of each curtain or valance. For curtains this should be at the leading edge (where the two curtains meet).
- Then, from the opposite side, pull the three cords at the same time to gather the curtain. Continue to gather the curtain into even pleats until the required width is reached.
- Tie off the cords but do not cut off the excess as the curtain will need to be ungathered for cleaning. The loose cords can be tucked out of sight behind the heading tape.
- Next, decide which row of hook pockets to use. To conceal your rail use the bottom row. To show the rail or pole use the top row. The middle row is ideal for adjustment use with hook/glider rail.
- Insert a hook at each end of the tape and then approximately 10cm (4 inches) apart across the width of the curtain.
Tab top and Eyelet headings
- Feed each loop or eyelet over the pole, ensuring that the outer tabs/eyelet are positioned between the bracket and the finial. To achieve a regular fold, hang the curtains with the tabs/eyelets close together for the first few days with the section between each tab/eyelet folded back.
